DOWNTOWN FAR ROCKAWAY ARTISTS COMMISSIONING PROGRAM/STOREFRONT IMPROVEMENT RDRC will subcontract with Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) to kickstart the launch of the Artist Commissioning Program (ACP), a democratized art commissioning project focused on placing artwork, designed by local artist on solid rolldown gates located in Downtown Far Rockaway. Storefront Improvement Program essential to upgrading; enhancing and creating a well-designed storefront attracting customers; highlighting local businesses; defining the community and promoting a thriving neighborhood, bringing more visibility and identity to the character of Downtown Far Rockaway.
Community Panelist experienced cultural professionals with a commitment to the development of the arts and culture in their Queens communty. Each QCA panelist has knowledge of Queens communities, and expertise in an artistic discipline, arts administration, or community arts programming.
Artists who present a fresh perspective by creating work that speaks to the cultural diversity of Downtown Far Rockaway Queens by bringing a more vibrant and welcoming feel to our Rockaway community.
As the Rockaway community undergoes revitalization, along with challenges due to COVID-19, the community continues to grow, as does the need to further enhance the communities economic growth, thru neighborhood promotions, and economic resources for public improvements.

It provides information on community happenings, business opportunities, invitations, and information on our programs and services.
